Hawaii 5-0

We went to HAWAII!!! It was awesome. We got to spend a week in Maui while my mom watched the kids at home. Most of our vacation was spent on the beach, pretty much our favorite place ever. In fact if we didn't go to the beach soon enough in the day we would start to get mad. So we made sure we went as much as possible. Some people when they travel try to get in all the sites and stay super busy every day. Not us, we didn't want to come home and need a vacation from our vacation. So we relaxed as much as possible, and played in the waves.
Postcard shot. We look like we were super imposed onto this picture. This picture was taken on the beach path in Wailea. After laying on the beach all morning we decided that we should walk a bit, and its a really cool walk looking at the Ocean on one side and cool fancy hotels on the other.
After spending the first few days on our own. Our friends Kirk and Whitney arrived on the island to celebrate his dads birthday. They also got engaged!!!! We were so excited to get to be part of the celebration with them. CHEERS!!
We had just come up from the pool right before the engagement, and really its Maui who needs clothes. I love the view from their room.
The happy couple fresh off the plane and newly engaged. Happy to be in Maui and relax.
On Saturday we headed back up to the Hyatt in Kanapali and spent the day at the pool. It was really exciting to play in a fun giant pool at a fancy hotel. I'm pretty sure that Sean and Kirk didn't leave the pool from the moment they got in.
Whitney and I lounging on our sweet peninsula. Doing some major people watching, which is really the best activity ever.
Saturday night Kirk and Whitney treated us to a Luau. We of course had to have matching Luau attire. Major Cheese factor. (side note: it got even cheesier when I got the kids a matching dress and shirt.)
Newlywed Luau pose. Once again major cheese factor.
Serious bromance action going on. The Luau was good food and good company, Kirks mom, dad, bro and gma were also there. And the fire dancer singed his eyebrow off.
Our final day was probably one of the best of the vacation. We spent the morning with Kirk and Whitney in Lahina, had brunch at the most amazing taco window called The Window, did a little shopping, then headed back to Kihei for a final beach day. We beach hopped from Kameole Beach 1, to Polo beach, spent a few more hours there, then we went on a run on the beach trail.

This is at Polo Beach in front of the Fairmont Hotel. We love this beach because the waves are good to play in, and they have chairs to sit on when your not playing in the water. Best of both worlds.
Our final meal was at Wokstar, a ridiculous noodle shop on Kiheis main street. The food was so fresh and healthy, also inexpensive. It was an awesome vacation but it was also so nice to come home to the kids and get back to regular life. I just wish it wasn't winter still :) We did pinkie swear to go back in 5 years!

Wow what a trip! I'm impressed you left the kids and did it. Got to love your mom for helping out. I love Maui, can't wait to go back. Once I am done completely having babies I am there (Though that may be a few more years!). Glad you guys had fun!
