Two Cute Pictures

Well its been almost a week since I've blogged and boy has it been crazy. This past weekend Kevin and Erika came over to visit, and get her hair done. We had so much fun just hangin and talking. We went to a West Valley basketball game so that the boys could visit there old school and support the team, well we showed up at the end anyways cause us girls went out to dinner and shopping during the game. The game was fun though because Mae love to watch basketball games, she was even cheering for the team GO EAGLES!!! We had a great breakfast on Sunday (its a little tradition of ours to have a nice big breakfast on Sun morning when we're visiting either place). Then on Sunday after they left Sean and I had Thors, it was Chile night so as you can imagine it was a rootin-TOOTIN time. And Mae just took it all in, that girl loves to party we need to watch out as she grows up we have a social one on our hands. Tons of errands on Monday, then back to work on Tuesday. So its finally Wednesday night and Mae fell asleep on the ride home from Malia's so I have a few minutes to play catch up. So I'm choosing to blog (so that I don't get nasty you need to blog comments) instead of cleaning the kitchen oh well it will get done. I just posted a few really cute pictures of Mae I take so many that I just love them all but I really love her face in this one I just think that it is priceless. I was trying to get her to roll over but she really didn't want to but she was being so dang cute that I didn't care if she rolled or not.

Its a pretty funnie book and that chapter makes you think what park mom am I?

One Year Ago

So exactly one year ago today I was bringing Sean home from the hospital after getting his apendix removed. We had a little stop at the grocery store to get supplies for Sean and I thought to myself "well maybe I'll get a pregancy test." We get home I get Sean all situated on the couch with pills and juice and soup, then I decide well maybe I'll take the test now. I still hadn't told Sean that I was going to take it. Well I went and did my business and much to my supprise it was a double pink line. YIKES I was actually pregnant, we had been trying for 8 months to no avail and then wham it happens. I then come out of the bathroom to my mildly doped up hubbie from the pain pills, and Im crying so then he is so confused. Until I let him in on what had happend we were pregnant. So cool. We then called our family and friends because I couldnt keep it a secret even if we had tried. They were all a little thrown off because we had just called them all the day before and told them that Sean had his apendix removed. But once they to let it sink in we were all just so excite Today I was just thinking how fast time goes by because now we have our bueatiful Mae and she's already rolling. So I just put up a few pictures that I liked all taken within the last week so that I can look back at then next year and this day and say again "wow I can't believe its already been a year."

This was yesterday Geoff was playing the guitar and Mae was hanging next to him loving the vibrations of the music she was either touching his arm or the guitar the whole time she was sitting there.

Anoyed in the Bumbo chair because she slides to the side but I think shes getting the hang of it and sits in it while were eating dinner at the table.

Rollin Rollin Rollin

Mae is rolling from her front to her back now. We are so excited and she even did it on Papa J's birthday so it will be easy to remember. Way to go Mae you ROCK!

Maes First Run

So the weather is finally getting nicer, almost a balmy 40 degrees. So I decided that now would be a great time to take Mae on her first run. It took me awhile to get the stroller out of the garage and all set up for Miss Mae, but I got it figured out and straped her in. And once I got all the necessary baby provisions (diapers, wipes, extra clothes, etc..) we were ready to rock and roll. All bundled up with a blanket and the weather shield I felt that Mae would be warm enough.

We headed downtown because those sidewalks were more clear of snow and ice then the neighborhood sidewalks. We did meet up with some pretty trecherous conditions and I had to walk us very carefully but we made it down with no problems. Ran a few errands and then headed back home.

Mae and I finally made it home safe and sound, she even got a little nap in. As you can see we still have some good snow in our yard, my hope is that its gone in two weeks. I hope its not wishfull thinking. I told Mae that she needs to get used to the jogging stroller because were gonna be using it alot. She seemed to like it just fine so that made me happy.

Snow Pics

Well as most of you know we got our fair share of snow this year. So much in fact that the schools were closed for a week. I had to take pictures of how tall the snow was compared to Mae. note: in these pics shes @ least 24 inches tall, that will give you more of an idea about how much snow we really had.

Well the snow is finally melting but not really all that fast, we can finnaly see some grass in the back yard so its pretty exciting.

Rolling

Mae is so close to rolling over its so exciting. she can get all the way over except she gets stuck by her arms. But shes gonna figure it out soon. I'll keeps you all posted on her progress.

Oh this picture has nothing to do with rolling but its one of the ones that Misty took of her when she was 3 months old. So cute!!

Mae's First Cold

Poor little Mae has had a cold all week. It makes me so sad her nose is stuffy, she's coughing, has a hard time sleeping, and isn't eating as much. But I think that we are on the tail end of it here. We did take hedr to the Dr. though on Tuesday and that was crazy. I know feel for single working mothers. Maes appt was @ 5:50 and I walked out of work @ 5:05. I then had to shoot up the South Hill to Mistys house in awful conditions, the roads were so icy but I made it to Mistys. She had Mae ready to go so I ran in and got Mae and was out the door again. If the roads had not been icy I would have made it right on time to the appt. But insted I was 10 minutes late and we all know how I feel about being late. Anyways we made it and she got all checked out. Her lungs were clear, ears looked good, and so did her mouth. All in all she had a viral infection and were supposed to waite it out, but go back in if it gets any worse. Shes doing much better today so I'm hoping that were on the upside. Im just glad that it took until she was 3 months old before she got her first cold.

Super Pedi Bowl

Super Bowl Sunday was an awesome day. It started off with a great lunch at Mistys with the fam. Mom made lasanga soup. Then Sean and I were off to Rick and Graces for a little party. This is the 3rd year that we've gone over to their place to watch the game. Last year Grace and I decided that every year we watch the game together we are going to get pedicures during the first half. So this year we held fast to our tradition and went off to get our feet pampered. Mae also came along she had a blast watching us get our toes done. And she got to have a little lunch what a great day for her, relaxation and good food.

Of course we had to take pictures to document Maes first trip to the nail salon. This was the begining of our toe party.

Heres the boys during half time of the game every year they go out and throw the ball around no matter what the weather is like. As you can see this year there was way to much snow.
Since grace and I got our toes painted we decided that Mae need to have hers done. She was so paitent with us.

Yeah for the Giants. Don't worry I caught the last couple minutes of the game, which were the most exciting anyways. And more importantly Mae got a fabulous pedi!

The Weekend

This last weekend was a nice busy one. My mom and dad came to town so mom could get her hair cut, and so they could see the grandkids. We packed in a lot of stuff in 2 days. but we got it all done. On Saturday night we went to Nathens Mini Mod indoor Soccer game. It was so cute I tried to get pictures but I was having a hard time with it and there all blury so no pics of the game. After the game we headed to the Olive Garden because mom has been craving it, and who doesn't like the salad and breadsticks. The only downside was the waite because it was a Saturday night. We ended up waiting for an hour and a half but it was great because we haven't been out to dinner with the family in a long time. And after dinner dad helped Sean put our toilet in, so that was exciting.

Mae was watching the golf channel with Papa J maybe she'll go hit some balls with him soon.

Heres a picture of all of us waiting for dinner. The nice thing about waiting @ the Olive Garden is that there is a lot of space in the waiting area, complete with escaladers and elevators so the kids had a great time playing on those (with adult supervision).

Back To Work

So this last week was my first week back to work. I know that most of you have been wondering how that went. Well it actually went ok. Once again the fact that Sean didnt really work this last week made it eaiser on Mae also espically since Mistys kids were pretty sick and she was supposed to have Mae on Tues and Thurs. But Sean had her both of those days instead and I think it helped make the first week a little better for both Mae and I. Then on Weds Mae went to Malias house which is her normal day there and had so much fun with Niles and Oliver (who was such a big help). It was hard to leave her in the mornings, but once I was working I switch into work mode and just power through. The day goes by pretty fast when you have clients all day so thats nice. It also helped that all my clients want to hear all about Mae, so I pretty much talk about her all day which what mom doesnt love that. The other nice thing is that I work 3 days a week and every other Sat. Not such a bad schedule.

On Tuesday day one of work Mae turned into a big girl. When Sean when to give her, her first bottel she snatched it out of his hands and fed herself. I dont know maybe she was thinking well moms not here so I need to feed myself. Look out I think I have an independent child. What comes around goes around I guess. But you gotta admit that its pretty darn cute holding the bottel all by herself.

So my first week back is over and out of the way and now its time to get into our routine of work and play. Im just so lucky that Sean and I have such a great support system helping watch Mae it has for sure made the transistion of working again so much eaiser.

Bathroom Update

Our bathroom is almost complete. Im so excited pretty much all we have left to do are the small things. The floor was the biggest project of the whole thing but Sean was amazing and with the help of a few of our friends and family we got it done in the time frame we gave ourselves. So we had to finish the floor in 8 days because we were house sitting and could take our toilet out. Since we only have one bathroom this was a very important factor. Another wonderful but unexpected thing that helped get the bathroom done was that Sean only had to work 2 days last week because the school was closed on account of all the snow that we recieved.

So this picture is pre painting. As you can see our bathroom was pretty much white on white boring!

Heres Jason using the tile cutter. And doing a great job I might add he got all the angles right.
Heres the tile after it had all been laid, grouted, and halfway sealed. The sealer is the step that makes the tile that we picked out really cool.
These are all the pics I have right now but the toilet is back in, and the sink (although its not yet hooked up yet). We have the toilet paper holder in and still need to hang the hand towel holder and the towel rack. Things we still need to get are a new mirror, lights, and shelves. But it already looks so amazing and I'll get new pictures up soon I promise.
